I am a 17 year veteran of the US Army and Texas Army National Guard with two combat tours; Operation Desert Shield / Desert Storm, as a paratrooper with the legendary 82nd Airborne Division and Operation Iraqi Freedom as a Combat Medic with the Texas Army National Guard. "Best job I ever had!"
I've been a Texas police officer for 20+ years and a certified a Texas Master Peace Officer. As a police officer, all my assignments have been Patrol and SWAT. I have worked in Iraq and Africa, off and on for 8 years; providing medical care for US DoD contracts, providing high risk security services to the oil and gas industry and being a security manager.
Through my careers, I have trained others and been taught by some of the giants in the police industry. I am a certified TCOLE Police Instructor, TCOLE Firearms Instructor, LTC Instructor and many other cool guy training schools. I have a passion for teaching whether its teaching service members combat medicine, teaching police officers or teaching at church. As a teacher, there is a moral obligation to the student, to bring the most relevant and current concepts. Then teach in a way that inspires students and makes the lessons life impacting.
If I can inspire others to continue to seek improvement and make their families and places of business safer, I have accomplished what was set out to do.
The pursuit of knowledge continues even today with a pursuit of a Masters degree in Security Management.
